From March 9 to March 12 EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds, Moscow, Russia hosted the 14th International Specialized Exhibition INTERLAKOKRASKA’2010, a leading event in the paints and coatings industry, as well as the international specialized salon “Surface Treatment. Antirust Protection” as part of the event.
The exhibition was organized by P&I JSC MAXIMA and EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds.
The exhibition was held under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the Government of Moscow, supported by the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Russian Chemists Union, the Mendeleev Russian Chemical Society, the Association of Moscow Chemical Industry Organizations and the Russian Chemical Workers Union.
Since 2009 INTERLAKOKRASKA is officially supported by the German Ministry of Economy and Technology and the Union of German Industrial Engineers (VDMA).
INTERLAKOKRASKA, due to its superb organization, high efficiency, and its contribution to development of the paint, varnish and chemical industries, was awarded by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) and the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs.
The opening ceremony of INTERLAKOKRASKA’2010 took place on March 9, 2010 in EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds. Speakers who addressed the participants and guests included Mr. V.P. Ivanov, President of the Russian Chemists Union, Mr. M.S. Budennuy, Deputy Director of EXPOCENTRE Guest Exhibitions, and Mr. O.K. Pakshin, Director General of P&I JSC MAXIMA.
According to Mr. Ivanov, President of the Russian Chemists Union, INTERLAKORASKA covers a large segment of the chemical industry and is a project of major significance and an effective tool for the industry development.
Mr. Budennuy, Deputy Director of EXPOCENTRE Guest Exhibitions, said that “the representative, informational and effective” INTERLAKOKRASKA’2010 under the changing conditions of manufacturing structure and paint and varnish consumption reflected the actual development situation in the industry.
Mr. Pakshin, Director General of PIC MAXIMA CJSC, wished success to INTERLAKOKRASKA guests and participants. He said that throughout these years the exhibition has become a traditional annual forum for experts of the paints and coatings industry from Russia, the CIS and other foreign countries, interested in developing business in Russia. It also gained the status of the “major Russian exhibition in paints and coatings industry”.
Official greetings to the holders, participants and guests were sent by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the Government of Moscow and the Department of Science and Industrial Policy of the Moscow Government. Mr. V.P. Strashko, Vice-President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized the importance of innovations, new materials and high-efficiency equipment at Russian paint and varnish enterprises. INTERLAKOKRASKA presents latest achievements and opportunities to expand cooperation with Russian and foreign partners.
In his welcome speech to the exhibition participants, guests and organizers, Mr. E.A. Panteleev, Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Science and Industrial Policy of Moscow, noted that INTERLAKOKRASKA has been a regular forum for manufacturers and experts of the paints and coatings industry for 14 years. It is “a productive event with intensive information exchange among all chemical market participants”.
The exhibition INTERLAKOKRASKA’2010 and the salon “Surface Treatment. Antirust Protection" as a part of the Exhibition were held in the Forum Pavilion of EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds and occupied around 3,500 sq.m net. The exhibition presented over 200 companies from 21 countries: Azerbaijan, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, India, Spain, Italy, China, Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, Republic of Belarus, Russia, USA, Turkey, Ukraine, Finland, Czech Republic, Switzerland, South Korea and Japan. The collective exhibitions from Germany, Finland and China preserved and strengthened their positions.
Foreign exhibitors of INTERLAKOKRASKA’2010 included such market leaders as AkzoNobel, Bayer, BASF, Du Pont, Netzsch, Wilhelm Niemann, Jotun, Eisenmann, Evonik (Degussa), CPS Colour, DSM, Omya, etc.
The Russian paints and coatings industry was represented by Gatchinsky Powder Paint Plant, Tambov Gunpowder Factory, Perm Gunpowder Factor, Lakokraska OJSC, Spektr NPP CJSC, Zhukovsky Machine-Building Plant, Yaroslavl Powder Paint Plant, etc.
First time participants of INTERLAKOKRASKA’2010 included Worlee Chemie, AGC Chemical Europe, Mallak, Yaroslavsky Lak, PF Pigment (Saint-Petersburg), Ekopromika, Karbolin, Antikor Komposit, etc.
According to preliminary data, INTERLAKOKRASKA’2010 was attended by 11 200 specialists and industry experts, which increases 3 times compared to last year and indicates a growing interest in the paints and coatings industry as well as manufacturers of paint, varnish, surfacing and other chemical materials.
A part of INTERLAKOKRASKA’2010 was the 4th international specialized salon “Surface Treatment. Antirust Protection” (900 sq.m). The salon mainly presented equipment and materials for surface preparation and treatment, modern surface treatment and corrosion protection technologies.
INTERLAKOKRASKA’2010 as always presented a wide range of paint and coating materials: oil, acrylic, water dispersive, alkyd paint materials, powder materials and coatings, raw materials for all types of paint: pigments, solvers, fillers, film-forming agents, stabilizers, additives; production and treatment equipment; packaging as well as new technologies and scientific research results.
The professional ambiance of INTERLAKOKRASKA’2010 with an intensive business program provided experts and specialists of the paints and coatings industry with a forum to discuss challenges and find effective solutions. Implementation of advanced technologies in paint production, nanotechnologies and new developments in this industry draw genuine attention of the industry’s specialists and become a topic of discussion within the framework of INTERLAKOKRASKA’2010 business program.
From March 10 to March 11, 2010, the Second International Scientific and Technical PAINTS AND COATINGS'2010 Congress was held as a part of INTERLAKOKRASKA’2010. The Congress was organized by P&I JSC MAXIMA, EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds, LLC Publishing House LKM-Press, Centrlak Association with support of the Russian Chemists Union.
The Congress Plenary Session “Priority Trends in the Paints and Coatings Industry Development” was held on March 10, 2010 on the first day of the Congress. It was dedicated to national projects of the Russian Federation and the industry’s goals; current situation in the paints and coatings industry and the results of 2009; participation of paint manufacturers in Responsible Care International Program.
Another event held on March 10, 2010 was a scientific and technical seminar on Modern Water Dispersive Materials in memory of Prof. V.V. Verkholantsev. The seminar presented new types of raw resources for water dispersed paints and varnishes as well as innovations in formulating and manufacturing technologies.
On March 11, 2010 on the second day of the Congress, two sessions were held at the same time – Raw Materials and Equipment for Paint Production and Protective Paint and Varnish Materials, Surface Preparation, Treatment and Coating Methods. The Congress included a practical presentation called “Synthomer high technology materials for manufacturing waterproof membranes and mineral-based sealants.”
Over 30 reports were presented during two days of the Congress. The experts of the paint and chemical industry highly appreciated the Congress preparation and organization.
The business program also included conferences and seminars by leading companies and publishing houses.
On March 9, 2010 EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds hosted a conference in Additives in Paint Formulas arranged by Paint-Media LLC, Paint Materials and Their Use Magazine and P&I JSC MAXIMA. On the same day, Greiff Industrialties AB/SCS Sweden, Company VPK LLC Moscow, P&I JSC MAXIMA held a seminar in Modern Technologies of Industrial Painting and Energy Saving Methods.
The second exhibition day was filled with events organized for the industry’s specialists. On March 10, 2010 Alufinish Rus and EPO-Polymers, Industrial Painting Systems jointly with P&I JSC MAXIMA held a conference in Modern Technologies of Surface Preparation for Painting, Eloxal Process. On March 10, the experts of DOW Microbial Control shared their experience and achievements in the paints and coatings industry with participating experts.
On March 11, 2010, the industry’s experts participated in the conference dedicated to itw Gema Paint Equipment, Modern Automation Technologies in Powder Paints, arranged by P&I JSC MAXIMA and EPO-Polymers, Industrial Painting Systems.
An important event was the 10th International Contest “Best Coatings Award-2010”, intended to identify and award the best companies developing and implementing advanced technologies and materials in all production types of the best paint and varnish products. The contest was held by P&I JSC MAXIMA , EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds and the Russian Chemists Union.
The annual contest allows paint manufacturers to present new products in the market, enhancing the product image and brand recognition. It also provides an independent appraisal by an expert committee, whose main task is to make an unbiased, objective and fair decision.
On March 9, 2010, the Expert Contest Committee comprised of leading experts of the paints and coatings industry held a meeting. The contest participants (Yaroslavl Powder Paint Plant LLC, ELCON LLC, Huber Packaging Group LLC, Tambov Gunpowder Plant Federal State-Owned Enterprise, Olainsky Chemical Plant Biolars LLC, Novy Dom LLC, Mir Upakovky CSJC, Gatchinsky Powder Paint Plant LLC) presented their products in the following categories: organic dillutable varnishes, paints, enamels for all types of work; special varnishes and paints, including protective, anticorrosion, polygraphic, artistic, etc.; powder paints; pigments, fillers, additives, etc.; original packaging solutions.
The Expert Committee of the Best Coatings Award-2010 announced the winners. It awarded 5 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze medals.
The gold medal winners were Elkon LLC for SI-VED Elkon Silicone Emulsion, Olainsky Chemical Plant BIOLARS for METALAK RAPID Anticorrosion Base Coat, Yaroslavl Powder Paint Plant for P-EP-PL-2080Ò Heat-curable Epoxide Polyether Powder Paint, Novy Dom LLC for Colourants of Various Concentration, Huber Packaging Group LLC for Cylinder Tin Pail with Inner Coating.
The silver medal winners were Tambov Gunpowder Plant for NC-583 Enamel and NC 132-P Enamel, Elkon LLC for Silicone Wood Protection, Yaroslavl Powder Plant for 2070 and 1027-1 Powder Paints with low drying temperatures, and Mir Upakovky CJSC for its 30-liter Container.
The bronze medal winners were Olainsky Chemical Plant BIOLARS for Road Paint, Gatchinsky Powder Paint Plant for Primatek Enamel and Metallic Primatek Polyether Powder Paint, Mir Upakovky CJSC for Various Capacity Containers and Huber Packaging Group for a 1-liter Tin Bottle.
The prize winners of the Best Coatings Award-2010 Tenth International Contest were awarded at the exhibition opening reception on March 10, 2010. Prizes were awarded by Mr. O.K. Pakshin, Director General of P&I JSC MAXIMA , and Mr. V.V. Semenov, Vice-President of the Russian Chemists Union.
The 15th Anniversary INTERLAKOKRASKA’2011 Exhibition will take place at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds on March 1-4, 2011.
