New products, trends of paints and coatings market presented at Interlakokraska 2020

The 24th edition of the International Exhibition for Paints and Coatings opened at Expocentre Fairgrounds today.

Over its 23-year history, Interlakokraska has become the main exhibition and convention event of the Russian paint and coating industry. Each year, the exhibition draws keen attention of representatives of the construction industry, the chemical industry, the woodworking and furniture industry, the car industry, the aircraft industry, and the shipbuilding industry.

Interlakokraska 2020 has brought together 230 companies, including leading paint and coating manufacturers and consumers and suppliers of advanced technologies and equipment from 18 countries: Belarus, China, the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Switzerland.  

Leading domestic and global market actors, such as Pulver Kimya, Konica, IBA Kimya, Sozer, Wagner, VMA-Getzmann, DOW, BYK-Chemie GmbH, Sibur, ABS Farben, Akrilan, PalIzh, Omna Rus, Teksa, Eurochem-1, NPK, Netch Tula, Slantsy-Khim, and Koelga Mramor, are demonstrating their innovative products, know-how, and technologies on an area of 3,700 square meters.

This year's exhibition presents materials for treating various kinds of surfaces, raw materials for every type of paint and coating, equipment for manufacturing and applying paints and coatings, dosing and washing equipment, cleaning and waste management systems, and many other things.

The vast event programme of Interlakokraska 2020 is dedicated to various aspect of competitiveness of modern paint and coating production facilities, including technological and workforce issues. About 20 events will be held to address topical legislative amendments, market trends, paint and coating exports, new equipment and formulas, and development of the industry's workforce potential.

The International Coatings Forum 2020 organised by the Russian Coatings Journal and Expocentre AO took place on the exhibition's opening day. The main theme of the forum is paint and coating additives and binders. The forum was addressed by experts from acclaimed companies and industry institutions, who familiarized technical specialists, commercial directors, and heads of enterprises with new products that could help improve properties of paints and coatings.

A session on Using Augmented and Virtual Reality for Production and Marketing Purposes also took place today. It was chaired by Modum Lab Technological Education Company President Dmitry Kirillov. He told the audience in detail why virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) technologies should be implemented in paint and coating production, what results could be achieved by using VR/AR technologies in training and preparing technical personnel, how augmented reality should be used for servicing equipment, and how to put VR/AR solutions to effective use in production processes.

Expocentre organises Interlakokraska 202 with support from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Chemists Union, the Mendeleyev Russian Chemical Society, the Technical and Economic Research Institute for the Chemical Complex (NIITEKHIM), the Centrlack Association, the Paint Quality Association, and the Chimvest Scientific and Technical Centre, and under auspices of the Russia Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Interlakokraska 2020 exhibition will end on March 6.
